  • Kolkata: Mehboob Rehman Mollah (55), a primary schoolteacher who was working as a BLO, suffered cerebral attack and was hospitalised on Friday, prompting his kin to blame the "excessive SIR workload".

A resident of Chandpasha Paschim Muslim Para under booth 110 in Kashinagar, Raidighi, Mollah was reportedly overwhelmed by the increasing workload, his kin alleged.

According to local resident and relative Murad Hossain Bagani, Molla was employed at a school in the Diamond Harbour subdivision. Unmarried and known to be energetic and dedicated, he confided in close acquaintances about the growing mental stress associated with BLO duties. "He often spoke about the pressure and the difficult questions he had to face from people he contacted during verification work," Bagani said.
