Kolkata: The Tiljala Police received a complaint alleging a hit-and-assault incident involving a car and a woman riding a scooty near Roy Dhaba on Chowbaga Road off EM Bypass on the night of Jan 15.
According to the written complaint by the victim, who resides at GJ Khan Road, the incident occurred around 9 pm when a four-wheeler allegedly struck the complainant's scooty from behind.
The complainant stated that after she protested against the reckless manner of driving, two men got out of the vehicle, allegedly used abusive language, assaulted her, and punched her in the face.
The complaint further alleged that during the confrontation, the assailants snatched a gold chain from the complainant. She said she sustained injuries severe enough to require medical treatment.
