Kolkata: Two public interest litigations (PILs) have been filed at Calcutta High Court, seeking deployment of central forces at Beldanga in Murshidabad, on Monday. While one PIL was filed by BJP, the other was filed by a Beldanga resident. The division bench of Chief Justice Sujoy Paul and Justice Partha Sarathi Sen approved the filing of the PIL, which is likely to be heard on Tuesday.
Violence had erupted at Beldanga on Friday following the death of Alauddin Sheikh, a migrant worker from the area, in Jharkhand. Fresh unrest was reported on Saturday over attack on another migrant worker.
