1 day later, SSC alters panel for shortlisted teachers

Kolkata: Less than 24 hours after the Central School Service Commission (SSC) on Wednesday released a panel of shortlisted candidates for 12,000 assistant teachers' posts for classes 11 and 12 in state schools, it was changed on Thursday. The revised panel now includes names of candidates, whose ‘experience marks' of 4 to 6 were added, though they were earlier marked ‘0' in that category.
The move came after allegations were raised about lower ranks as the marks in the experience category were not added.
The list that SSC published on Wednesday ran into 1,173 pages, but after the addition of the experience marks, more names were added, and the number of pages went up to 1,179. The waiting list also increased from 1,060 pages to 1,061. An SSC official said, "There was no change in the total scores. Due to a court order, some candidates' experience points were mistakenly not included in the panel, so they were corrected and added. But there was no change in the merit list."
