Kolkata: An alleged attempt at illegally filling up a pond at Chakgaria was stopped after local residents alerted Kolkata Police and KMC. Cops from Panchasayar PS and KMC officials conducted a joint inspection on Dec 30 and an FIR was registered on Wednesday. After the inspection, KMC recorded the water body as the one located at Teachers' Housing Estate. The owner of the pond is listed as "unknown" in the municipal details provided. tnn
