The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education is giving a final chance to students to enrol for the Madhyamik exam, which is scheduled to start from Feb 2. In a notice on Saturday, it stated that eligible candidates who were deprived and missed enrolling for the exam due to dereliction on the part of their concerned school will get a final chance for 24 hours, from 12 noon on Jan 27 to 12 noon on Jan 28. Education minister Bratya Basu wrote on his X handle, "Under the directive of the Honourable chief minister of the state, Ms Mamata Banerjee, the interests of students are always given the highest priority. To protect the interests of eligible candidates who were deprived of enrolment and admit cards for the 2026 secondary examination due to school negligence, the School Education Department and the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education took active steps…" tnn
