• Jagadis Bose Nat’l Talent Search scholarships for 400 students

  • Kolkata: Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS) held its 66th annual awards ceremony on Saturday at the Derozio Hall, Presidency University, where it awarded as many as 400 students from a pool of more than 15,000 aspirants from all across Bengal with scholarships and a book grant.

    Through a unique set of questions, namely the Senior Talent Search Test, Junior Talent Search Test, Senior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti, and Junior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti, these students were identified as JBNSTS scholars and awardees.

    The top 10 boys and the top 10 girls were felicitated with laptops.

    A press statement by JBNSTS said, "Considering the lower enrolment in several disciplines of science at high school and undergraduate levels in West Bengal, this glorious programme serves as an inspiration for all the incumbents to attain excellence in STEM education and research."

    Delhi Public School, Ruby Park, in Junior Scholarship; Aligunj Rishi Rajnarayan Balika Vidyalaya in the Junior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti category; South Point High School, Kolkata, as well as Bardhaman Municipal High School in the senior scholarship programme; and Delhi Public School, Ruby Park, in the Senior Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti category were declared the best schools.

    Minister of science & technology and biotechnology Ujjal Biswas attended the event.
