Kolkata: The Kolkata Police cyber cell arrested five youths on Friday from a flat in Bikramgarh and a complex in Maheshtala for operating a pan-India network involved in investment fraud and malicious APK "click and lose" financial scams. The accused are from Maharashtra and Bihar.
The gang sent malicious APK files to targets through ads and links online. Once clicked on the links, the APKs were installed, allowing the accused access to victims' devices, including bank apps. Laptops and mobiles have been seized. tnn
