Kolkata: BJP's newly appointed national president Nitin Nabin's first state visit will be Bengal.
According to the schedule received, his two-day visit will be in Asansol-Durgapur from Tuesday, Jan 27, where he will have extensive deliberations with party netas and workers. He is scheduled to leave Bengal on Wednesday.
Bengal BJP functionaries said Nabin will not come to Kolkata in this visit, but has panned to focus on the Asansol-Durgapur-Raniganj belt. On Jan 20, hours before his name was announced as the national president, Nabin held his first meeting with Bengal BJP netas to discuss poll preparations.
Immediately after he was sworn in, Nabin paid tributes to Syama Prasad Mookerjee on his X handle. "Polls are going to be held in Bengal and the changing demography in Bengal is in the discussion all across. How things are changing there with the change in demography. We will have to emerge as a strong force in the forthcoming polls in five states," Nabin said during his speech.
