Woman sustains critical injuries in Park St hit & run

Kolkata: A 50-year-old woman, Dipannita Mukherjee, sustained critical injuries and is on ventilation after being hit by a speeding car on near Park Street Cemetry early on Saturday. Police said, the driver fled from the scene without offering assistance.
CCTV footage showed a premium white sedan speeding along Park Street, said an officer. The victim, a resident of Old Nimta Road in Belghoria, who works at a private hospital in Park Street suffered severe injuries to her head, face, lips, mouth and hands. She was initially admitted to Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital and later shifted to a private neuroscience hospital at Mullick Bazar due to the seriousness of her condition.
"We have traced the registration number and are trying to arrest him," said a cop. —Tamaghna Banerjee
