Kolkata: Thakurpukur police registered a case of attempt to murder, along with other serious sections, on Monday against a councillor from Behala and other Trinamool functionaries.
The FIR was lodged in connection with alleged violence and arson following a lawfully permitted political meeting by the BJP on DH Road at Sakher Bazar on Sunday, attended by senior BJP leader and former Tripura CM, Biplab Deb.
The case was recorded at Thakurpukur PS based on a written complaint filed by Pritish Poyra, a resident of Dakshin Behala Road. Trinamool also registered a counter FIR, under the same sections, including attempt to murder, against BJP functionaries. tnn
