  • Kolkata: Calcutta High Court on Thursday directed Bengal govt to file a report on 7,000 women allegedly not receiving Lakshmir Bhandar benefits. The bench of CJ Sujoy Paul and Justice Partha Sarathi Sen was hearing a plea alleging that women in East Midnapore's Moyna gram panchayat have not been receiving benefits of the scheme.

The panchayat falls under Moyna constituency, represented by BJP's Ashok Dinda in the assembly.

Senior counsel Billwadal Bhattacharyya submitted that the women haven't received any funds since Sept.
