Vote-on-account, SIR on agenda in last session before elections

Kolkata: The vote-on-account session of the Bengal assembly will start on Tuesday and the vote on account will be tabled on Thursday, it was decided at an all-party meeting on Monday. No representative of BJP was present at the meeting. This will be the last session ahead of the assembly elections, likely to be held in April.
A motion on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls will also be debated at the session, Bengal assembly speaker Biman Banerjee said.
He added that several deaths have occurred since the SIR began in Bengal, which is why the govt believes a detailed discussion on the matter.On Thursday, the session will begin with the governor's address. In the second half, finance minister Chandrima Bhattacharya will present the vote-on-account. On Friday, there will be a discussion on a resolution regarding SIR. There will also be a discussion on the state's interim budget proposal and one on the governor's address.
