Chinsurah: A court on Tuesday sentenced two men to life imprisonment in a 2021 murder case. They were also fined Rs 20,000 each, reports Falguni Banerjee.
The convicts, Anupam Das and Arun Paswan, murdered Tapan Mallick in July, 2021, for revealing their names to a man whose goat the convicts had stolen.
The convicts assaulted Tapan Mallick, but he was rescued by locals.
Later that night, the duo allegedly broke into Mallick's home and abducted him. His body was found the next morning in Nandir Math area.
A complaint was filed at Cinsurah PS, naming Puchi Das, Bittu Das, Anupam Das and Arun Das. Puchi and Bittu were acquitted.
