Kolkata: A 33-year-old woman lodged a complaint at Posta police station alleging sexual assault, criminal force and intimidation against a jeweller, who was also her employer.
According to the complaint, the alleged incidents took place from Nov 20 to Feb 2.
The accused was named as the proprietor of a jewellery store located at Sir Hariram Goenka Street. The woman stated she a sales girl at the store and alleged the accused often passed objectionable remarks at her. She claimed that on Tuesday, the accused called her over and tried to sexually assault her while she was at work.
She alleged that the accused touched her inappropriately, tried kissing her cheeks and removing her clothes. The woman also alleged that he threatened her with dire consequences when she objected to his advances. The accused denied all allegations, claiming the woman was upset at being pulled up for her shoddy work. tnn
