Kolkata: A Kolkata-based content creator was accused of molesting and assaulting a 22-year-old woman, who used to be a close friend until recently, police said.
After an FIR was registered at the Behala PS on Wednesday, he remained on the run for almost a day. Late on Thursday, he was arrested from a hideout in Dum Dum.
"The woman, a south Kolkata resident, claimed the accused confined her to a room for nearly 12 hours after an argument, assaulted her and forced her to stay silent about the incident before letting her go," said DC (SWD-Behala) Rahul De. According to the woman, her torment continued till 5 pm on Tuesday at a flat on Raja Ram Mohan Roy Road, on the Behala-Tollygunge link stretch. She claimed the man outraged her modesty by pulling her clothes and touching her inappropriately and threatened her, police said. tnn
