Kolkata: Some mischief was going on in this court, said Justice Krishna Rao of the Calcutta High Court, when a case, listed at serial number 92 on Thursday appeared at 16 on Friday. He directed the registrar general to place the matter before Chief Justice Sujoy Paul for action against the erring officer.
"I am against three things—corruption, suppression and adjournment. Why did it come up as 16? I know what goes on here after 4.30 pm," Justice Rao said. The matter pertaining to Freedom Fighters' Dependent Pension will be next taken up on Feb 26 for the registrar general's report.
Additional solicitor general of India (ASGI) Asok Kumar Chakrabarti pointed out the erroneous listing.
