• Another man held in Kankulia violence case

  • Kolkata: The city police arrested another person in the Kankulia violence case reported last Sunday, in which two persons were injured after shots were fired, bombs hurled, personal property and vehicles vandalised. Sambhu Sikari alias Patla (34), a resident of AT Chatterjee Road in the Lake area, was arrested on Thursday, taking the number of arrests in the case to 20.

    The arrested individuals were aged between 18 and 38, said cops.

    "While some accused are residents of the Rabindra Sarobar Police Station area, a few are from Lake and Tiljala areas, while others are from the Kasba Police Station area," said joint CP (crime & traffic) Rupesh Kumar.

    Kolkata Police commissioner Supratim Sarkar had stated earlier that no one involved in this incident would be spared.
