• Jindal India launches Rs 11,000-crore coating line at Howrah plant

  • Kolkata: Jindal India, part of BC Jindal Group, has commissioned a new state-of-the-art advanced metal coating line at its Ranihati manufacturing complex in Howrah with a Rs 11,000 crore investment.

    The line is expected to boost production of value-added coated steel products by around 60% to around 0.3 million metric tonnes. The company expects its revenue to rise by 20% in FY26, supported by higher volumes and improved product mix. The company said the newly-commissioned line was supplied by SMS Esmech. It is equipped with advanced automation, precise coating control systems and high process stability.

    Shyam Sunder Jindal, promoter, BC Jindal Group, said, "The commissioning of this state-of-the-art advanced metal coating line reflects our long-term vision to build a strong, technology-led downstream steel platform in India."

    "Investments in advanced manufacturing capabilities enable us to enhance product quality, expand our value-added offerings and align our growth with India's rapidly evolving infrastructure and manufacturing needs," Jindal added.
