Kolkata: Publicis Sapient, which recently opened its first eastern India office in Kolkata, is eyeing joint ventures with local startups to drive AI-led digital transformation and enter Bengal's global capability centre (GCC) sector through similar tie-ups.
Sanjay Menon, managing director and executive vice president (India), told TOI: "Our focus areas are AI and GCC, which are in high demand for digital transformation across private firms, including multinationals based in this city. We are looking for joint ventures with startups to implement our business models efficiently — this will also help startups expand through our client network. Our focus remains on building and evolving AI platforms that deliver sustained enterprise value."
With the Kolkata office, the company now has eight offices across India.
"Over the last three years, our group expanded in the digital transformation segment. Kolkata is the hub of our eastern India business, and this is just the beginning. The city's multinational presence and talent pool drew us here. We will scout for expansion in Bengal and may consider a facility in Bengal Silicon Valley in the future," Menon said.
