RG Kar victim’s parents’ fresh plea for custodial interrogation of night shift docs, KP officer

Kolkata: Parents of the PG trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, who was raped and murdered in 2024, on Tuesday demanded custodial interrogation of those who were present with their daughter on night shift at the hospital on the fateful night. The parents made a fresh appeal at the trial court in Sealdah.
They also demanded that the police officer, who initially investigated the case, should be questioned to investigate the larger conspiracy angle. They alleged that both the Kolkata Police and CBI overlooked that angle.
"We are of the firm belief that Sanjay Roy (civic volunteer arrested for the doctor's rape and murder) cannot be the sole person involved in brutalising our daughter, who was killed while performing her duty at her workplace. There were a few others, and we pray before the Sealdah court that all of them, including a Kolkata Police officer, be taken into custody and interrogated," the father of the victim said.
