Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) has set a new unbelievable record by producing the fastest 700 electric locomotives in 263 working days of the financial year 2025-26. The 700th electric locomotive was rolled out on 17.02.2026 from Chittaranjan workshop premises of CLW. Out of these 700 electric locomotives 521 have been turned out by Chittaranjan Unit and 179 by Dankuni Unit of CLW.
It is pertinent to mention here that CLW had produced a total 700 locomotives during the FY 2024-25 in 299 working days.
This year’s production of record 700 locomotives is achieved in 36 working days in advance as compared to working days for 700 locos produced by the end of FY 2024-25.
CLW’s ancillary unit at Dankuni has contributed enormously in achieving this milestone of fastest 700 locomotives in FY 2025-26 as it has produced 179 locomotives in comparison to 156 locomotives produced in FY 2024-25 in the production of 700 locomotives.
