Will come out of shadow: RG Kar victim’s kin share pic on FB

Kolkata: The family of the 31-year-old second-year PGT doctor, who was raped and murdered at R G Kar Medical College and Hospital in Aug 2024, has brought her identity into the public domain. The victim's father said although the family earlier chose to remain out of spotlight, they no longer wish to stay in the shadows. He said when the accused are moving around freely, there is no reason for the victim's family to remain hidden.
A photograph of the doctor with her parents has begun circulating on social media and sparked fresh discussion. On Monday, the victim's father said the picture was posted on Sunday, on International Women's Day, from a Facebook page titled ‘Justice for My Angel'. He said the page is run by him and his wife, and the photograph was shared with the family's consent.
He said no formal video message has been released on the matter yet but indicated that the family may soon appear in public to speak in greater detail. "We will come forward and tell everyone that an injustice was done," he said.
