Kolkata: Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee took charge of the law and judicial departments which had until now been held by Moloy Ghatak. Ghatak will continue to be the labour minister of the state.
A Nabanna notification issued Monday said the chief minister, who currently heads home, hills, health, land and land reforms, along with refugee relief and rehabilitation, minority affairs and madrassa education, planning and statistics departments will also head the law and judicial departments.
Ghatak was made the law minister in 2011 in Banerjee's cabinet but soon he was given agriculture department, but later he was brought back to law department.
