  • Kolkata: Kasba police registered a theft case after a 26-year-old woman alleged that silver items, coins, ornaments and electronic items worth several lakhs were stolen from her flat in south Kolkata between March 2 and March 10, police said.

    The case started on the basis of a written complaint filed by Mamoni Saha, a resident of a flat located at BB Chatterjee Road under Kasba police station limits. Saha accused a service provider of the flat, hailing from Haripal in Hooghly, as the main suspect in the theft case.

    According to the complaint, the missing articles included one silver dish, one silver glass, one silver spoon and six silver coins, besides electronic items and some ornaments.

    Officers are verifying the complaint, the list of stolen property and the circumstances under which the items went missing from the flat. No arrest was reported until the filing of this report.
