  • Kolkata: The second supplementary list has brought relief for three Trinamool candidates even though it has increased anxiety for eight others. Senior Bengal cabinet minister Shashi Panja made it to the list, as did Birbhum Trinamool neta Kajal Sheikh and Uttarpara candidate Shirshanya Banerjee, a senior govt lawyer. Junior minister Golam Rabbani is among netas who remain under adjudication.

"It is most unfortunate that hailing from a Banerjee Brahmin family of Bankura, where our paternal Kali Puja is 100 years old, I am having to prove this to ‘Harassment Commission of India'," said Banerjee.

Omitted initially, former Calcutta High Court judge Sahidullah Munshi and his kin have been included in the second supplementary list published late on Friday night. Retired in 2020, Justice Munshi is now the chairperson of state Auqaf Board.
