• Trinamool-CEO war of words over ‘record’ Form 6 submissions
    Times of India | 5 April 2026
  • Kolkata: The Bengal chief electoral officer's (CEO) office posted on X on Saturday that it did not receive Form 6 applications, saying that such "claims being deliberately circulated were completely false".

The post rebutted a Trinamool post, which had stated that Form 6s were being accepted at the CEO's office in violation of norms, as one cannot submit more than 50 Form 6 documents. The CEO was deliberately flouting norms, the TMC tweet alleged.

In its Saturday tweet, the CEO's office said: "Over the past few days, a good number of such documents have been submitted to this office — the majority of which are application forms pertaining to appeals by voters marked as ‘Deleted' in the final roll published on Feb 28, 2026."

"These are not Form 6 applications, rather, such applications may be submitted to the district magistrate or the chief electoral officer in accordance with the Representation of the People Act, 1950," it added.
