  • Uttarpara: Former NSG commando and BJP candidate from Uttarpara, Dipanjan Chakraborty, faced controversy after he campaigned wearing a black attire with NSG written on it.

Trinamool raised concerns over whether national security force attire could be used for election campaigning. Uttarpara Trinamool candidate Shirshanya Banerjee said: "We will file a complaint. By doing this, he is proving our allegation that the BJP uses agencies. Previously, they used the ED, CBI, Income Tax and the EC. Now they have brought in the NSG. I met many former military personnel during my campaign, and they are frustrated with this."

Chakraborty responded: "He is a lawyer. Let him take legal action, and I will respond. The issue is that no one in his family has faced an encounter. He doesn't know that it's not an NSG uniform. It's an NSG tracksuit. Anyone can wear a tracksuit."
