TMC sees ‘design’ in ‘illegal’ Form 6 acceptance, submits memo to CEO

Kolkata: Trinamool on Monday submitted a memorandum to Bengal CEO Manoj Agarwal over the "illegal" acceptance of nearly 30,000 Form 6 documents and the EC's allegedly biased and partisan role in attempting to include outsiders in poll rolls.
Senior state minister Shashi Panja claimed the EC was deleting names and attempting to confuse the public. "We submitted our representation regarding the illegal acceptance of Form 6, and while the CEO said there had been around 8,000 Form 6 applications, his comments remain unclear. This is a clear design to include voters from Bihar in Bengal," she said.
Panja added that the CEO failed to address their allegations.
She noted TMC-backed BLOs had protested against the illegal acceptance of Form 6, resulting in police harassment and the summoning of two TMC councillors to the police station. "While BJP men who created trouble and threatened to beat up TMC members were not arrested, no FIR was lodged against BJP's Kushal Pandey despite FIRs against two TMC councillors," she said.
Baiswanar Chatterjee, Trinamool MMIC of KMC, said the CEO claimed he could not provide CCTV footage of his office where Form 6 documents were stored.
"Why is there no CCTV coverage of an office that promises to place 82,000 CCTVs in polling booths?" he asked.
