• TMC, BJP lodge flurry of complaints

  • Kolkata/Delhi: Trinamool and BJP have filed a flurry of complaints with the EC alleging MCC violations and partisan behaviour. TMC lodged a complaint against Bengal CEO Manoj Agarwal, alleging he met with BJP netas in Nandigram on April 5.

Citing Sections 129 and 134 of the RP Act, TMC claimed his actions eroded public confidence and demanded his removal. Agarwal said that he would resign if the allegations were proven true. BJP targeted TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, demanding action for his Raina rally speech, which they alleged contained explicit threats of violence against BJP workers.

In Delhi, BJP demanded an FIR and a campaign ban against CM Mamata Banerjee. They alleged her claims — that 200 vehicles carrying CRPF personnel were intended to attack civilians and transport money — were deliberate attempts to incite violence against security forces.
