Kolkata: A Raiganj resident's allegation of being robbed by an app-bike aggregator rider on E M Bypass near Ajay Nagar on April 7 turned out to be a case of a drunken brawl rather than a planned crime, police said on Friday.
Cops have recommended starting a criminal case of wrongful restraint and assault against the biker. During the probe, it was found that the complainant was intoxicated. According to the complainant, the rider transported him to various locations before allegedly turning violent. He claimed the rider assaulted him and fled with his cash. A medical examination recorded an alcohol level of 64 mg/100 ml. tnn
