‘Poll agent’ CEO won’t win Suvendu N’gram: Abhishek

Nandigram: Trinamool national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee hit the campaign trail in Nandigram all guns blazing on Sunday, saying he didn't know "who Suvendu Adhikari's election agent is, but I feel it is Manoj Agarwal".
"But I challenge you, neither your election agent Manoj Agarwal nor Amit Shah's election agent Gyanesh Kumar can help you or BJP win Nandigram or Bengal," Banerjee said at a rally.
"Their candidate from here is BJP's Suvendu Adhikari," he continued, adding, "I saw recently that the CEO, Manoj Agarwal, came here and roamed around with a few BJP supporters on April 7 and campaigned for Adhikari in some places. They are sending notices to TMC cadre through NIA and CBI, and CEO is coming for campaigning."
Referring to agency actions, Banerjee said: "Those who are being threatened, don't be scared. If they scare you now, they will continue to do it regularly over five years."
"You will have to form resistance. Gyanesh Kumar does not have the right to take away your voting rights. If mothers and sisters choose the path of resistance, TMC will win here with a margin of over 25,000 votes. We are in Bengal, not UP or Gujarat," he added.
Attacking BJP, Banerjee said: "Those who do politics over religion are politically bankrupt. Our focus is on education, shelter, food and development. I have seen it on social media, when people complain about the poor condition of roads, he (Adhikari) speaks of religion. The soil that didn't bow down to the British...two days back I witnessed a person of the same soil bowing down at the feet of Yogi Adityanath. On one hand, they vandalise the bust of Vidyasagar and humiliate Swami Vivekananda, and on the other hand go down at the feet of Yogi Adityanath."
"This poll is about development vs misrule. If Pabitra Kar wins from here, you will get a bridge over Haldi river and 30,000 people will get funds under Banglar Bari," he added.
