  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi Friday exuded confidence in winning the Assembly elections in Bengal, saying the record voter turnout in the first phase shows BJP is winning. “Trinamool Congress has lost its nerve after witnessing huge turnout in first phase of voting,” he added.

Taking a cue from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’ popular saying, PM Modi urged people to bless them (BJP) with votes, and they will give Bengal freedom from a number of perils such as misrule, corruption, grip of infiltrators.

Modi was addressing a rally in Panihati after concluding roadshow with the mother of RG Kar rape victim, now BJP candidate of the constituency.

Referring to the gruesome rape of a woman doctor of RG Kar hospital in 2024, Modi said the jungle raj in Bengal under Mamata Banerjee’s rule snatched a daughter from her mother. Howver, the first phase of polling has ensured end of TMC’s ‘maha jungle raj’.

Modi added that after May 4 poll results, TMC goons will not find a place to hide in the state. “I Want to assure the sisters of Bengal that women’s security will always be supreme to us,” PM Modi said.

Terming TMC an anti-women party, Modi underscored that the BJP works on women-led development model.

Modi also stated that the interests of the middle class will be paramount for BJP govt in Bengal.
