  • Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday hailed the BJP’s strong performance in West Bengal, calling it a “resounding mandate” against fear, appeasement politics, and those who protect infiltrators.

In a series of posts on X, Shah credited the people of Bengal for what he described as a decisive political message, while framing the outcome as a victory of trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership over the Trinamool Congress.

Shah began by extending “millions of salutations” to the people of Bengal, saying the mandate reflected a clear rejection of “fear, appeasement, and protection to infiltrators”.

He described the result as “the victory of trust in Shri Narendra Modi ji over the TMC’s ‘fear’,” underlining the BJP’s central campaign plank in the state.

Highlighting the party’s expansion, Shah said it was a moment of pride for every BJP worker that “from the source of Mother Ganga in Gangotri to Gangasagar, the saffron flag is proudly waving everywhere.”

He called the outcome “historic”, attributing it to the “sacrifices, struggles and martyrdom” of party workers over the years.

The Home Minister paid tribute to BJP workers who, he said, had endured violence and hardships without “wavering from the path of ideology”.

He also acknowledged the role of their families, calling the result “a triumph of patience” for those who stood firm despite difficult circumstances.

Shah congratulated BJP’s national president Nitin Nabin, state president Samik Bhattacharya, and Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, along with party workers across Bengal for their role in the outcome.

Reiterating a key political message, Shah said the people of Bengal had delivered a lesson to “infiltrators and their sympathisers” that parties practising appeasement politics “will never forget”.

He added that the BJP would work to fulfil the aspirations of the people and “restore the lost glory of Bengal”, invoking figures such as Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Swami Vivekananda, Rabindranath Tagore, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, and Syama Prasad Mukherjee.

Shah also reiterated the party’s commitment to realise the vision of “Sonar Bangla”.
