  • Hundreds of BJP workers and leaders on Monday celebrated the party’s historic win in the West Bengal Assembly polls at the BJP national headquarters in the capital, as the surroundings echoed with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.” Party workers also gathered to listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address.

Supporters and leaders relished Bengali sweets and snacks such as jhalmuri, rasogulla, and other festive treats as they marked the crucial electoral victory.

Those gathered inside and outside the BJP headquarters sported saffron stoles and greeted each other on the occasion.

Earlier, senior party leader Tarun Chugh and Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva, along with party workers, took out a victory march from the BJP national office to its extension and back. The procession moved to the beats of dhols and daphlis, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.

Party workers also applied saffron colours on each other, reminiscent of Holi celebrations.

A BJP supporter who had come to witness the celebrations said that, being originally from Bengal, he believed the state would now witness a new era of development and benefit more effectively from policies under the leadership of PM Modi. He added that people in Bengal would now be able to access the Centre’s schemes more efficiently.

Workers and supporters had gathered at the national office from different parts of the city as well as the NCR region.

Meanwhile, Delhi Minister and BJP leader Parvesh Verma distributed jhalmuri and jalebi, stating that the occasion was not merely a celebration but marked the triumph of an ideology whose foundations were laid by Syama Prasad Mukherjee and Deendayal Upadhyaya.

He added that after years of alleged misgovernance, fear, and politics of appeasement, the people of Bengal had taken a historic decision to bring about much-needed change.

Earlier, Tarun Chugh said the party’s victory in West Bengal was historic and added that, under the leadership of PM Modi, it was now Punjab’s turn.

He said every worker in Bengal deserved congratulations for standing firm against the alleged hooliganism of the Trinamool Congress across multiple elections.

Meanwhile, Virendra Sachdeva said that with this victory, PM Modi’s vision of making the lotus bloom from Gangotri to Ganga Sagar would be realised—an achievement made possible by the election strategy of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the tireless efforts of lakhs of party workers.

“People of Bengal have paid rich tribute to Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee in his 125th birth anniversary year,” he added.
