Falta’s Pushpa back home, with support from Singham’s men

Falta: ‘Pushpa' is finally back home, but it was only after some ‘support' from the men of ‘Singham'.
Almost a week after Trinamool's Falta candidate Jahangir Khan went ‘missing' following the rout of his party at the hands of BJP, Jahangir Khan — who referred to himself as ‘Pushpa' a la the popular Telugu movie — is back in Falta. Interestingly, the return took place only after the EC instructed Diamond Harbour district police to ensure that Khan could return to Falta and campaign for the re-election at his constituency, scheduled for May 21.
In the days leading up to the election on April 29, Falta saw a locking-of-horns suited for an action flick. IPS Ajay Pal Sharma, known as an ‘encounter specialist', was appointed as the EC's police observer and projected as ‘Singham' — a superheroic cop from the Rohit Shetty film universe. What followed was their encounters and some charged political theatrics.
However, with BJP sweeping Bengal assembly polls, the equations at Falta changed. EC had already ordered a re-election at Falta, after being convinced that "severe electoral offences and subversion of democratic process during polling" took place in the constituency. Following this, Khan went underground.
