  • Kolkata: State govt is preparing to is scouting for office space after CM Suvendu Adhikari on Monday announced the formation of two judicial commissions, set to function from June 1. While one panel will focus on penalising persons involved in corruption, the other will deal with atrocities against women and children.

    Justice (retd) Biswajit Basu, who will head the first commission, said he could comment only after returning to the city next week.

    "The panel would probe complaints of citizens. There are complaints that homeless people had to pay cuts to get funds under housing schemes for the poor. The CM wants to end mafia raj in the state ," an official said.
