Kolkata: The city continued to simmer in heat and humidity on Tuesday. The Met office sees no immediate respite for now. Even as thundershower activities are occurring in parts of southern as well as northern districts, Met officials said chances of rain in the city are slim. Even as the maximum temperature at 35.4°C was only 0.4 notches above normal, it was the high humid content that made the feel-like temperature close to a high of 50°C during Tuesday afternoon. The minimum temperature at 29.2°C, however, was 2.5 notches above normal.
"Even as the city might get some thundershowers in the next two to three days, the chances are only around 40%. Even if it rains, the relief will only be short," said RMC head HR Biswas. tnn
