Kolkata: A handcrafted pouch containing gold and silver ornaments was stolen through a window in a Gulshan Colony home in Anandapur on Tuesday. Shabina Khatoon (32) and her family were asleep and had kept a bag — containing things required for a trip to Bihar for a family event — near the window. The thief made off with the valuables worth lakhs.
The stolen items include a 20g gold chain, a gold pendant, a 10g gold chain with a pendant, three pairs of gold earrings weighing over 12g, five gold nose pins, a silver anklet, and seven silver rings. The thief also took other ornaments and clothes. Cops have started a probe.
