  • Kolkata: Bidhannagar Police is preparing a report to submit before the Calcutta High Court on the alleged disorder that broke out at Salt Lake stadium during Lionel Messi’s visit to Kolkata last Dec, while they still await for former sports minister Aroop Biswas, who is yet to respond to the summons sent to him and yet to meet the cops at the police station.

The case stems from a complaint lodged at Bidhannagar South Police Station by event organiser Shatadru Dutta, following which an FIR was registered. As part of the probe, Biswas has been summoned for questioning three times.

Speculation was rife on Monday that Biswas could appear before investigators but he didn’t till late on Monday.

The Calcutta High court has, meanwhile, granted interim protection to the former minister from coercive action. However, it had directed him to cooperate with the investigation. The court had also ordered that the police must serve a notice at least 48 hours in advance before seeking his appearance in connection with the case.
