Kolkata: The state is considering installation of water meters in commercial and industrial establishments.
“There has to be a water meter for commercial use if not for residential houses,” said state urban development & municipal affairs minister Agnimitra Paul on the sidelines of an interactive session organised by Merchants Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Thursday.
Paul said the state is also considering working on plans to develop rainwater harvesting.
CM Suvendu Adhikari, who met Union minister of Jal Shakti C R Paatil at Nabanna, posted on X that the central govt’s flagship Jal Jeevan Mission is poised to be implemented across Bengal and that the state, in collaboration with the Jal Shakti Ministry, will participate in projects like Namami Gange Programme and Jal Shakti Abhiyan.
