  • Kolkata: The CID on Tuesday received permission from a Bidhannagar court to collect the voice sample of Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee in its ongoing probe against him for making the ‘DJ’ remark during a poll camapaign. The magistrate accepted the agency’s plea and scheduled the collection for June 30.

Banerjee on Tuesday also moved the Calcutta High Court, seeking permission to travel abroad for eye treatment.

The application was filed before Justice Saugata Bhattacharyya, requesting approval for a stay of about one week overseas. The plea seeks relaxation of a travel restriction imposed by a single bench of the high court in connection with a case over an allegedly provocative speech made during election campaigning.
