Kolkata: The Calcutta HC on Wednesday granted an interim stay on the FIR lodged against former MP Mimi Chakraborty based on a complaint filed by event organiser Tanay Shastri, who has also filed a Rs 20-lakh defamation suit against her.
After a detailed hearing, Justice Kaushik Chanda granted the interim stay.
Chakraborty had alleged that she was removed midway through her performance and filed a case accusing Shastri of harassment. Shastri filed a counter-complaint alleging that Chakraborty did not arrive at the specified time, which was why he requested her to leave the stage.
