  • Kolkata: Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra on Friday moved Calcutta High Court seeking protection from arrest after an FIR was filed against her following the July 1 egg attack on her at Nadia’s Kaliganj. The matter will be heard on Tuesday.

Her counsel mentioned the matter before the single bench of Justice Saugata Bhattacharyya, stating that while the police have not acted upon the complaint made by her, they have issued a 35(3) notice of BNSS (which mandates police to issue a written notice of appearance) through email in a counter-complaint filed against her.

Her counsel told the court that no proper service was conducted and that Moitra has replied to the notice issued through email.
