Kolkata: The direct citizen-minister interaction platform, ‘Mukho Mukhi’, which state urban development and municipal affairs minister Agnimitra Paul had earlier announced, will be launched on Tuesday.
Citizens can directly call up Paul on the toll free number, 1800 2035123, if they face civic problems with water supply, road maintenance and drainage.
The first session, to be held from 3 pm to 4 pm on Tuesdayis meant for areas within the KMC. The schedule for other civic areas will be announced later.
Paul had earlier said she would herself be present to take the citizens’ grievances. Once the problem is resolved, the complainant will receive a message.
Former KMC mayor Firhad Hakim had a similar weekly initiative — Talk to Mayor — at the KMC headquarters, where he used to take calls from citizens to redress civic grievances.
