Kolkata: The state govt announced the release of 50% of the estimated dearness relief (DR) arrears to pensioners and family pensioners residing in the KMC area, providing interim relief to around 30,000 beneficiaries whose dues have been pending over incomplete pension records.
In a notification issued by the finance department on Tuesday, the state govt said the decision was taken to expedite the disbursement of DR arrears under the ROPA 2009 pay revision. The interim payment will cover 50% of the estimated DR arrears for the period from 2008 to 2019.
To facilitate the process, the state govt developed a dedicated Bank Pension Management portal. The banks have been instructed to verify and update the particulars of pensioners and family pensioners and immediately credit the calculated amount to their bank accounts.
