Kolkata: The West Bengal Central School Service Commission issued a notice on Monday, announcing that interviews for the recruitment of assistant teachers would begin on Aug 4.
According to the notice, the candidates, who qualified in the second State Level Selection Test (SLST) for the assistant teachers’ posts for classes 9-10, will first be called for document verification. The commission will publish a list for the candidates on its official website on July 7.
The previous govt had announced 35,000 vacancies at the secondary and higher secondary levels. Among those, 18,617 vacancies are that for teachers of classes 9 and 10.
This second SLST recruitment process was launched after the 2016 SLST recruitment panel for teaching and non-teaching staff was scrapped following a Supreme Court order. The written test for this session was held in Sept last year.
