Kolkata: Kolkata Police has suspended two deputy commissioners for allegedly posting controversial remarks and videos on social media despite a clear directive from the top brass against the “misuse of digital platforms” by personnel. The suspended officers are Bidhan Saha, DC North III, and Partha Pratim Das, DC Port II.
According to police sources, the action was taken after an internal review panel flagged their online activity. Das had allegedly shared a controversial video on social media, while similar allegations regarding inappropriate online comments were raised against Saha who seemed to have seconded him. The two also made several controversial posts in 2025, said sources.
