  • Kolkata: A complaint has been filed at Rabindranagar PS in South 24 Parganas against TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee and 10 others. Complainant Malati Biswas claims “improper treatment” at a Sebaashray camp led to the loss of her left leg.

According to the complaint, the woman, suffering from osteoarthritis, had gone to a Sebaashray camp in Maheshtala where she was given some medicines. Her condition allegedly worsened after taking the medicines and when she revisited the camp, she was referred to MR Bangur Hospital. From there, she was sent to Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital (CNMC&H) where doctors amputated her leg.

On Monday, BJP’s Abhijit Das (Bobby) submitted a complaint at Parulia Coastal PS against Banerjee and his associates, calling for an investigation into why medicines, intended for public treatment, had been buried underground or destroyed.
