Calcutta High Court Denies Urgent Hearing to CPM Leader Lahek Ali

Calcutta High Court on Friday denied urgent hearing to CPM neta Lahek Ali’s plea seeking protection against an FIR filed against him for allegedly inciting violence over Baruipur rape-murder case. Justice Saugata Bhattacharyya told Ali’s counsel to file the case in a regular course and it would come up for hearing in presentation form. His counsel urged for an urgent hearing stating that Ali is being allegedly threatened with mob action for protesting against police inaction in the Baruipur incident. tnn
